Northern lights over Godafoss waterfall in Iceland. A spectacular show into the arctic wilderness. Aurora Borealis dancing in the night sky with vibrant green and purple colors is reflected into the waters of the waterfall. Godafoss, the waterfall of the Gods, is one of the most iconic and popular waterfalls in Iceland. It is really easy to access it while driving around Iceland's ring road. There are two vantage points from which you see the waterfall. Here I have walked down to its shore. There are many slippery rocks, so extra care is needed. Nevertheless it is a breathtaking waterfall created by the river Skjálfandafljót, the fourth largest river in Iceland.
