Description
The famous lagoon of Balos in Crete island in Greece. The beach is famous for its turquoise waters. It is often voted among the top ten beaches in the world! You can get there either with a ship or driving via a bumpy, terrible road and then walk for about half an hour under the hot summer sun. However the view when you first see Balos is an unforgettable memory totally worth the hike! You should definitely visit this natural paradise when you visit the West side of Crete island. You'd better get there early though, if you choose to go by car, to avoid the hordes of tourists that come with the ships. The nature is beautiful and you may see the famous kri-kri goats climbing on the rocks while driving there!
