Description
The black church of Budir stands out of the surrounding landscape thanks to its color. Huge grey clouds had filled the sky during our visit there creating a pretty dramatic scene enhancing the isolation feeling of the location. Budakirkja is the Icelandic name of this iconic church. It is located on the south coast of Iceland's Snæfellsnes peninsula.

Wow, it sure does stand out! Beautiful capture Alexios! I would love to know why it is black. l/f
Alexios Ntounas replied:
Thank you very much Linda! It is painted black with pitch to protect it from the harsh Icelandic weather.
