The labyrinth of Versailles is a hedge maze in the Gardens of Versailles. It was created by André Le Notre in 1668 in the gardens of the palace. In the maze you can find thirty nine fountains and sculptures depicting Aesop's fables. The fountains depict animals which spurt water jets from their mouths to give the impression of speech.

The Palace of Versailles, Château de Versailles in French, was the principal royal residence of France from 1682, under Louis XIV, until the start of the French Revolution in 1789, under Louis XVI. André Le Nôtre was the landscape architect who designed the gardens of the Palace of Versailles

The Palace and the Gardens of Versailles attract so many tourists each day. I still remember standing in a huge line under the rain just to get into the Palace. However we were lucky and the weather cleared just in time when we got out of the Chateau. The sun appeared and we were able to enjoy a walk in the Gardens and listen to the fountains music...

Photography is a good reason to wake up early to capture a sunrise, to stay out late to photograph the milky way or to wait for the perfect light.
