Description
This is one of my favourite locations in my hometown, the city of Thessaloniki in Greece. It is a hilltop in the area of Kalamaria municipality. From up there you have a clear view of the Thermaic gulf and if the weather is clear you can even see Mount Olympus. Olympus is the tallest mountain in Greece and home of the Olympian Gods according to ancient Greeks.
The sun sets just behind this mountain range giving some amazing sunsets. This evening the sea was really calm since there was almost no wind. A few clouds were in the sky. As soon as the sun set, amazing colours appeared in the sky and the sea. The sunset lasted only for a few minutes but it was really intense. Passengers and cyclists were stopping to enjoy the serenity of the scene. I used the tall grass as the foreground in my photo. I think it adds more depth in the photo and it makes you feel like you are at the top of this hill overlooking the sea!
