This is the little church of Saint Nickolas located at cape Kanistro of Kassandra in Chalkidiki, Greece. The painted white orthodox church was built in 1865. Its marbles were taken from the ancient temple of Apollo Kanastraios!
In this photo you see this holy place under the star trails during a warm summer night. The church is illuminated by the candles religious people have lit praying to God. During the summer weddings take place in this serene and beautiful location. I have seen brides reaching the church on a boat through the sea.
This is a place I like visiting because of its serenity and calmness. It’s a perfect place to enjoy the sunrise behind the mountain range of Sithonia. If you walk a few meters you can see the waves crushing on the rocky coastline behind the church.
