Description
Frankfurt am Main is the business and financial center of Germany and the largest city in the German state of Hesse. The city is known for its futuristic skyline and the busiest German airport.
In this photo you can see Frankfurt's skyline with its huge skyscrapers. Those skyscrapers are located in Frankfurt's financial district, the Bankenviertel. TaunusTurm is the project name for a complex of two buildings, a 170 m skyscraper and a 63 m high-rise residential building. Next to it is the Main Tower, Glass-fronted skyscraper with an observation deck & restaurant offering city & river views.
This bridge in the front is called Alte Brücke, meaning "old bridge" in German. It is the oldest bridge over the lower course of the river Main and until 1886 was the only stone bridge crossing the river. There is also a ship passing under the bridge. The church at the right of the photo is Frankfurt's Cathedral, a Gothic-style Catholic cathedral decorated with Renaissance frescoes. Probably the city view from the tower's top would be great but we didn't have the time to see it on our own.
We stayed in Frankfurt only for a few days but I managed to be just on the spot I wanted to be to take this iconic photo of Frankfurt during the blue hour! The city lights are reflected into the calm water of river Main while cars are passing over the old bridge. Fraknfurt is for sure a beautiful city to visit!
