I usually photograph the milky way during nights without the moon or at least when the moon has set in order to reveal the colors of the milky way. This photo was taken while the moon was setting thus the beautiful orange and yellow glow in the sky. Moreover the sea appears almost blue and completely calm. The galaxy has started to appear, although not so vibrant but you clearly distinguish its shape and the milky way core. At the horizon and way over the Aegean sea a few lights from the villages of Pelion reveal the human presence. Such a beautiful and calm summer night. Perfect for astrophotography!
