Artist's Description
This underwater photo was taken at Glarokavos, a sandy beach on the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki. Since it was a hot summer day, the sun shone brightly over the sea. The sun casts wonderful abstract patterns on the sand at the sea's bottom and on the water's surface. I enjoy diving beneath the surface and swimming into the deep blue. It makes me feel so calm and peaceful!
The Greek Summer is one of the many reasons to fall in love with Greece. Greece has many beautiful beaches that are ideal for swimming. I live in Northern Greece, close to Halkidiki, and I go there every summer. Chalkidiki is a popular tourist destination due to its sandy beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters.

Hey! I am Ntounas Alexios, born in Thessaloniki, Greece. I am a software engineer and in the past few years I became passionate about photography. I always enjoyed travelling and exploring new places. With my photos I can share those experiences with the rest of the world. Photography is a good reason to wake up early to capture a sunrise, to stay out late to photograph the milky way or to wait for the perfect light. In the end its all about being out in nature capturing the perfect moment. Landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and astrophotography are my favorite genres of photography. My photographs have been published in Greek magazines and I have participated in various photography exhibitions.
